My very first “ company car” in 1980 was a new L300 when I worked for a hydraulic company in Hawthorn.. Our main client was Esso BHP Bass Straight.. Woulda done Hawthorn to Barries Beach (near Sale) hundreds of times... Empty it was a little hairy at speed but loaded with tools etc was stable as!.. Loved the thing..

One of my work colleagues' runs a gardening business on the side like I do. She bought a 2007 Mitsubishi Express a couple of years ago. For the sort of work she does, a van works well, whereas I need a large open tray.

A while ago, she had a very minor fender bender in it, the other driver was at fault by running through a red light and clipped the drivers side door of the Express, both cars were at low speed. The damage to the Express was minimal, basically some panel work on the driver's door and front right quarter panel. However, after the shunt she ended up taking two weeks off due to agonizing hip and lower back pain, which ended up lasting for months after the accident.

Short answer - don't buy a Mitsubishi Express, and if you do, sell it ASAP.

Why do you think i called my old one deathy??? One of the bloke's i worked with got in a low speed rear ender, as in he was at fault, in one of the other L300s work had. By low speed im talking maybe 20. The pedal box pushed up his shins.
Express vans are the best, real as in you are the safety...

I’ve been feeling nostalgic for my express lately, it’s almost 12months of owning my LDV. There’s still a lot of them around considering they were sold new until 2014. 2 owners though, backpackers and tradies. Saw one with a bullbar and bug splatter the other day, NOT my first choice for highway driving.

We're looking at another van for a company car, I'm going to encourage for LDV G10 but the unleaded turbo job rather than diesel.

Cheaper maintenance, circa 50kw more power, nearly the same amount of torque as the diesel one, and chuck E10 in her, she'll be right.

Is there a runout sale on the current model?...saw an ad somewhere and haven't seen the words run-out since pre-Covid
