Spent a lot of time cruising in a XD wagon as a teenager. 250 auto, bench vinyl seat. Now thats what you call roomy.
(Edit: You could hide a bit of weed behind the centre badge of the steering wheel 😄)

Huge nostalgia thread this thanks to Sprintey.
Well those days ain’t coming back unless you accept buying one of the models of the past that most won’t especially for a daily.
Move on Sprintey your not going to find your old time holy grail unless you got the cash to improve it up to todays standards.
There is no more multi function type of vehicle like the ol Falcon let alone commodore Holden’s.
My DD mid size SUV performance jalopy does me fine, infact I luv it though I sure won’t be going on dirt tracks or the beach with it even though it could.
Today I’m afraid you need to won a couple of cars to cover your needs if your that type.
Only way to make it work for your wants and needs.

Hi Guys,
my wife has a Holden Commodore VE Station Wagon. about 7 years go we started off just driving to Nelsons Bay for a weekend. We left Nelsons Bay and didnt want to go home so we drove to Queensland and then decided to drive to Alice Springs.

The car never missed a beat, even on the way to Coober Pedy in the hot weather.
We still have her car and just like my Ford Mondeo it just keeps going.
