Default need info on EA turbo falcon modded by AIT in melbourne.

My brother is going to buy a genuine EA falcon Turbo that was developed by AIT in Melbourne back in 1988. It's dark grey with a 5spd manual, 260km/hr dash, turbo and all the badges.

Anyone got info on the factory output, 0-100km/hr, 1/4 mile times. The brochure in the car claims it's got 270hp or 200kw, from what i can see under the bonnet the battery is on the otherside, airbox is on drivers side, has 12 injectors and it looks like a t3 turbo. I think only about 100 were made???

It's also very cheap, i don't think the owner knows just what he's got.

Cheers Luke.

What ever it is once you have it and its running its easy to extract more power from it. Im putting out 186rwkw with only 10psi. Others are putting out similar amounts on the same boost too.
There is a red one with the 12 injector setup but that is by AVO, it has 300rwkw or so.

That sounds like one nice looking machine. Dark Grey EA would look sweet.

its going for 4grand. I rang a Mike Vine turbo's and talked to the man himself. He helped design and develop them and said they run on 7psi boost with a small intercooler and can easy do a high 14, low 15 in stock form.

Cheers

Just spoke to Terry Wilson at AVO in Mebourne who built them and he said they made about 25 of them. Confirmed that they produce between 250-270hp at the flywheel. The have a decompression plate, the 3.9lt motor is stock, Garret T3 Turbo and a electronic fuel regulator to control the extra injectors.

So these cars should be worth about 15 grand if only 25 were ever made???

He takes it for a test drive tommorrow morning and if it goes harder than his worked 5sp vl commodore he's going to buy it. I'll keep you posted and try to get some photo's.

Cheers.

He should buy it anyway, it takes nothing for these cars to put out 200rwkw. If the engine is ****ed he should buy a low K one from a wrecker, whack that in and run a cooler if it hasnt got one already and turn up the boost to 10psi. It will handle it easily.

$4K is a steal for a legal falcon turbo setup.

Same here! Man that is a fricken bargain JJJ...sell your EL and get the thing!

My mate has a magazine with the ad. for the AIT kits. They're pretty well made, the intercooler pipes come up under the radiator support to a smallish intercooler so nothing's cut, there's also a oil cooler which is mounted under the LHF guard in front of the tyre. The manifold is a manifold standard one.

The best bit was that it looked like it came from factory, pretty professional.
