It's all about infrastructure....or better battery tech ...for delivery vehicles for example that go back to a base then this shouldn't be a problem. Or homeowners , on regular short trips and a driveway to park and charge at home. Even apartment owners without individual charging bays will struggle. However, if charging infrastructure numbers and quality doesn't keep pace with EV numbers then the public just won't jump on board...and I think we are already seeing that OS.

If EV Charging was as profitable as petrol, private industry would have already rolled out a lot more infrastructure. That is why the EV manufacturers and owners are crying to GovCo to build the infrastructure.

Different reason...maybe because if there were no private schools all the state governments would have to build all the schools and pay for everything on top of what they already provide to private schools.

Approx.. 43% of Victorian secondary students are in private/independent/catholic schools...that's a massive %.

In a way, the fed. government is pushing us to EV's but without the infrastructure to support it there won't be the sales to meet their desired targets. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather an ICE engined vehicle right now because it best matches my requirements.

If the federal government wants to buy me a new, useless, half payload truck, they can.

But that's the way we do things in the western world.....undersupplied outdated infrastructure and wonder why productivity is at an all time low , I often think of this when In sitting in traffic in a 9 axle B-train trying to deliver fuel

Probably would have had the same dramas with internal combustion engines in the early 1900s - wouldn't have been the density of servos with maccas back then

We've still got horse troughs in the main strip of our town

I reckon the people who could work from home who are being forced back into the office are probably thinking the same thing as they sit there with you.

Could you make money if you pulled up in a semi loaded with diesel generators and offered charging at "Qantas-like airfare rates" to the queuing masses?
