This seems ridiculous that a cop who is responding to a fellow officer in danger is then hung out to dry by his own chain of command.
But the plot thickens, when we find out about Hume Freeway quoter's and 40km/h passing speed concerns raised.

No one likes getting a pill from the Highway Patrol but the fines are usually well deserved.

He got away with not causing a crash as far as I'm concerned. I got passed by a cop at 160kph+ and within a couple minutes, his car was in the middle of the road, destroyed, and a car he hit cut in two. Miracle he didnt kill anyone. The fact that his mate may or may not have been injured doesnt give him the right to risk everyone else. It doesnt sound like his mate was seriously injured, and its not like he's a medic and there's a risk of loss of life if he doesnt get there promptly. He sounds like one of those 'comrade' types who has an axe to grind about workplace safety, to hell with ours.
