hey guys,
i've got a fiesta like many of you and boy it's the shiznit!!! i've also taken it to a track day and many ppl there where quite surprised by the lack of body roll from car. anywayz the car is BONE STOCK (Zetec) and i'm thinking about some minor mods for the car. i was wondering where to go for a front/rear sway bar? do any of you guys have one? Btw, incase anyone was gonna suggest this, i'm already planning to install better tyres and a K&N filter. Cheers. |

Hey dude
Welcome to the forums. Where ya from? Im pretty sure no one here has got swaybars, due to them not being readily available for Oz peeps, but that doesnt rule out getting custom one made up. U going the K&n panel or pod?

Thanks. I'm from the northern part of sydney. how bout u?
ummm, if i get the pod filter kit i'll probably modify it first cos i'm not too impressed by the way its setup from the DIY images on the K&N site. I work at a performance workshop so we'll think of sumthing and i'll definitely post it up if we do it. Otherwise i'll get the panel filter. I'm still deciding, thanks 4 the feedback. |

firstly welcome.
im surprised that people are surprised by the lack of body roll. i'd like to see what they think is alot of body roll!! there is already a front sway bar in place, most of you may not have seen it because it's quite well hidden. you wont actually see it until you take the wheel off. the problem is, its not a very big one, i think about 18mm max (without measuring) ive marked around it in red incase someone doesnt know what it looks like. so with that in mind, im sure a place like whiteline could do a custom one, based upon the original one. maybe some 27mm thick |

lol 27mm thick !! SURE, massive understeer :P
22 max would cover it. Rear swaybar will be nearly impossible. i dont even think the ST has one, and it shares the same basic rear suspension (live axle) Basicallly impossible because there are no mounts for the rear one, so it would involve welding and drilling holes. Id trust a place like whiteline to do that, but definately not Pedders. My mate had a swaybar made up by pedders only to have it fall off two weeks later !!!!!!!! They didnt use high tensile bolts !!

Oozie... Yes i have completely replaced the airbox with a mandrel bent stainless steel pipe (with bung to connect the oil breather to the head)
I use an Apollo filter, which is completely enclosed in a heat proof material and it has a single airfeed which is sealed over the filter (so no hot air gets in) That made a noticable difference. To be honest the exhaust HAS helped. But its taken me AGES to get it just right. If you want great bang for your buck take your car to an exhaust shop, ask them to replace the mid muffler with a resonator, and ask them to replace the rear muffler with a ''Triflow'' chamber muffler. Honestly if i could do the exhaust again, id probably leave the standard pipe sections because they are actually of really good quality and the bends are very good too. The mufflers are what need to be changed.
