By accounts of trying to leg it, then allegedly biting people who stopped that plan - not a great character summary.

How does one think running away from your own car means you'll get away with it?

Probably trying to avoid the drug and alcohol test until it's out of their system.

If the comments section is anything to go by, he was very drunk. Get away and avoid a breath test and your insurance might pay out. Don’t think they would have even if he wasn’t drunk because it’s obvious he was hooning.

The previous owner he bought it off 5 months ago did an interview for the news, sad to hear his thoughts about it, but at least he made bank on it when he sold it.

See the link I gave above.
Find it hard to believe the driver paid $250k of hard earned money and drove like that. Easy drug money, paid cash. I wonder if the previous owner just dobbed himself in, ATO might be chasing him down to see if he declared the cash income lol.

Absolute tossa.

Left his mates inside the wreck when he ran off.

Providing it's under $50K, I'd like to buy the car and restore it if it gets sold as a wreck.

I don't know him and I'm glad I don't.

Unless his restoring cars is his business, cash does not need to be declared, its a hobby ... AUSTRAC(?) might be interested though.

ATO might look at his income the next year and ask where did it go, they may ask 'took $250k in cash, what else is taking cash for', so for his sake I hope he is a cleanskin.

The buyer, he better get used to the bright light shining in his eyes, where/how does a young bloke get his hands on $250k cash?
