Have always run Penrite 15-40 Semi-Synthetic full synthetic makes all kinds of rattle ticks and is just not for me.
So Semi is a nice compromise I have found. But recently put Castrol GTX 15-40 Ultraclean and I am impressed btw I change every 5000km I do alot of daily driving. Shorter trips so it becomes very black and fuel rich. Haven't had any issues engine looked incredible inside when i took off water pump and fixed a leaky intake. It was spotless. been with me since 50k now sitting at 140k. TLDR: Penrite 15-40 Semi-Synthetic Castrol GTX 15-40w Ultraclean

I have been running HPR10 penrite in my XR8 for the last six years. Just about to tick over to 290,000k.
Nil issues. |

Any decent brand of oil in 10w40 to 15w50 will work .
I've run penrite 10w50 full syn for a long time , odo up around 250k kms now . It will use a bit between 10k changes, but generally not enough to need a top up . |
