Goodmorning all.
I have finally convinced the old lady that a Hyundai Elantra isnt a suitable car for a farmer and as such am going about trying to work out how we can get rid of her car, and get a 4WD on the cheap. Was just wondering how much you would think a 2000 Hyundai Elantra GLS Sedan with 125 000kms on the clock would sell for? I have a figure in mind, but I'll keep it to myself for now so as not to influence your answers. One of the vehicles which has been looked at as a replacement is the GQ Nissan Patrol 4.2. We are currently looking at a 1992 model GQ Ti. The 4.2L engine has a reputation for being a thirsty beast to say the least, and I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea as to how much it would cost to put it on Dual Fuel? I have seen conversions go for around the $2500 mark... is this as low as they go? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Now I am going back to bed. :voldar02:

Keep a lookout for a ford maverick too. Exact same car except usually cheaper. The XLT is equivalant to a Ti. I just bought one and love it.
It would likely be cheaper to buy one already on gas. I got a really good example with low K's, body and suspension lift, 33's, LPG, sunroof, power windows, tints, bullbar, towbar for $8K.

Dont buy a petrol patrol, buy a diesel. I had a Diesel '92 Maverick and it usually got about 18 - 20 MPG. Not cheap but better than 14 -15 MPG for the petrol version.

Certainly watching out for the Mavs aswell, we have found a Ti Patrol though that fits the criteria perfectly though so provided it is a good buy hopefully that will do us.
I would love a diesel but we want to put it on LPG anyway, so Petrol makes life easier. I know Diesels can have some LPG work done, but they are also more expensive to buy and I am lead to believe that LPG work is also more expensive. We are on somewhat of a tight budget.
