Default AUII XR-8 Engine Bay Photos?

Hi all, Does anyone have any photos of their AUII XR-8 engine bay they can post? Does the series 2 have the large Tickford cover located to the left of the air intake that covers the plug leads, coils, etc? or is this just on the series 3? I have only had my ute for about a month now and was wondering why there was no Tickford logos/markings in the engine bay at all. (all of my plug leads and the area between the engine and the grille are expossed) It is a genuine Tickford vehicle, also.

This is a series 3, I believe:

Is this what the series 2 is supposed to have? If so, where can I get this cover from, I'd assume it would be obsolete from Ford now?

I thought so.. is there any way of finding out if I have the 185kW or the 220kW engine? (I'm a bit of a novice with these things) Where would be the best place to source one of these engine covers from? I'm in Hobart so I am guessing I'd have to get one from the mainland somewhere.. any help at all from anyone out there would be greatly appreciated!

The XR8 ute's never came out with the 220kw from factory, BUT there seem's to be some discussion on whether they actually did or not as there seem's to be some owner's out there that do have 220kw ute's, this is very debatable, but if you want to source one you could try your local dealer or E-bay, as to finding out what KW your engine is ring FORD and give them the vehicle's detail's and they will tell you what engine you have.

Correct. Series 1 & 2 utes got the 185kw motor. Late in the series 2, Ford released the original Pursuit which came with the 200kw motor. The 200kw then became the standard for Utes (so late series 2, all series 3). Only sedans got the upgrade to 220. Easiest way to tell if you have a 200 or 220 in any XR, is the TB. In the 220s, it's all one piece with the Tickford wings engraved in it. In all other models it's a 2 piece TB & EGR plate.

The second offering of the Pursuit utes got the stroker 250kw, but you'd know if you had one of them! (You can tell by the smile on your face when you look in the mirror).

JC is 100% correct. I asked for build date so I could identify if it's the 185kw or 200kw. As for the engine cover, the 185kw ute/sedan didn't have one, but the 200kw in the XR/T-Series sedan's did. I don't know for sure if the 200kw XR utes had a engine cover, but I do know the limited edition 200kw AUII Pursuit ute did have a engine cover.

Ute or sedan? All AU2 & 3 sedans got the engine cover. Not sure about utes though. Though I think they would have, but some owners took them off as they trap heat in the engine bay (slightly).

The 185 motors have a bracket just behind the power steering resevoir that holds a high ressure hose (either AC or PS). If your engine has that bracket, it's a 185. The 200/220s don't have that bracket - they had a different bracket for the engine cover.
You can see the bracket in this shot:

Do you mean the circular bracket underneath the air intake (yellow cirle)?

or the loose one to the left, above the braided hose (red circle)?

This photo appears to be identical to my engine bay.

You have the 185kw motor. Build dates of April 2001 onwards AUII utes have the 200kw motor.

If that's the case he shouldn't have the engine cover either which would answer his question.
