That would be the BEM (Body Electronics Module). It controls things like Smartlock, interior lighting, rear demister, intermittent wipe, power antenna, etc.

Some of the information in that article is not quite correct in regards to Police and Taxi BEMs for EFs (they actually use Mid series BEMs). If the author of said article wishes to contact me I'd be happy to pass along what I know.

Fords official name is BEM but Gregorys (workshop manual) call it a BCM, hence the confusion. ;)
