Default Button

Hi.

My Dad had an old EL for a taxi and had duel fuel. He also had a switch over buttong fitted where the Central locking button is. He also had a little green LED in the button. I was wondering (because the buttons are the same) if this button is still avaliable?

Thanks.

Nah, it was just a single LED in the button idicating that it was running on gas, but it was a proper shaped Falcon button, just not for the doors....

no worries , maybe if you can't get 1 then just modify a switch ( drill a small hole in the centre of the switch and install an lcd behind it if necessary too , bit of work fine involved - but it would be possible , i'de maybe check a few wreckers and look for old taxi's especially ( pretty much 100% of them ran on gas , just a matter if they have the right switch or not ) , gl anyway.

Oh - maybe the place ya dad had his taxi converted to lpg could help you out getting onto a place where to obtain the part , they do install them so good chance an lpg installer would know .

I have the proper falcon button on my wagon, but it's not lit in any way.

I had a look at the page you provided the link to, nice button I thought, with the built in guage as well. Nice bit of kit, especially if you don't have a set up that uses the standard dash gague and don't like the usual box led gague.

the switch and l.e.d. are stock from ford
when you order a car new with gas on it you get the "tickford" gas kit and that is the change over switch
as the gas reads on the dash fuel gauge the l.e.d. is there to let you know that you are on l.p.g. when it is lit up.

Yeah, Thanks JC, searched the database and headed off to Ford spares today. Aparently, they can get the button and all in, just that the LED for the button has been discontinued... I think I'll still get the button and get an LED from jaycar or DSE... about $8 or so...
