I've upgraded my cd player, so have a series 3 style single cd unit that Im not using. A mate has the same car as me, and his cd player has stopped working. If I give him mine, is it simple for him to swap them? Eg, will he have to get the cd player re-coded by Ford to work in his car?

i think as long as it isnt a different SERIES (ie S1 instead of S3) then it should be fine
just have to put your code in to make it work again and write your code (aka the new cd players code) into his manual so he doesnt forget when he eventually goes looking for it after disconecting the battery etc

i think , but don't quote me on this - that you can use the cd-player in any car so long as you have the code for it , the code is a security feature of the radio , not the car.
