The low beam bulb has blown on the drivers side and i was trying to take it out to put the new globe in but it was a very tight place as the battery was in the way. My question is whether i need to remove the battery out of the way so i can change the globe or can it be done with the battery there?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks |

leave the battery in
reach in and squeeze the black connector at 3 and 9 oclock pull the connector off then pull of the rubber dust boot then study the clamp that holds the bulb in, dont take it all the way off, just unhinge it at the top and let it lie down inside the headlight remove the bulb and start over ** note the bulb will only go in one way, the larger tag to the bottom iirc..

Just to add to what Racecraft said, sometimes I prefer to remove the battery clamp & sit the battery back onto the carrier, this will gain you @2-3". The H4 plugs don't always release easily, fear not though, the EF/Ls are a REAL pain when it come to changing the H4, the AU ain't nearly as bad.

study the clip. and whatever u do do not try to twist the plug at all:P i made that mistace and sorta broke the globe in the socket, and later on when i worked it out managed to get shards all in the headlight:P oops
but once u got it its like riding a bike..hahahaha...easy
