Default BA crashed at Philip Island....

Hey, my mate was at Philip Island today, he said that a BA v8 had crashed -- was wet-slippery and hit curb and into tyres. Thousands of dollars damage... if its even worth fixing..., just wondering if anyone seen it or have pictures of the car?

thanks~

Unless you take out Motorsport Insurance, you got nothing except your own wallet. If it is that Velocity GT, its a pity cos that was a very nice looking car. :

Thats an odd comment. 60k is a hell of a lot less than some of the cars that do track work down there.

Hi Mate,

I have tried today to organise 'motorsport' insurance for my car, and had no luck. Tried Shannons first, then my insurance broker who tried another four or five underwriters. And none of them would even consider it.

Which insurer you know insures for circuit days and the like ?

Thanks in advance.

It was Matt's Buddy, he hit a wall spun around and hit it again, there hoping the rails are still straight on the car.

Im very glad it wasn't my car, but I saw it happen as I was behind the car in question.

The car is being fixed now and should be ready to race at the next round at Phillip Island.

I am surprised on how quick the word spreads and at the time of the accident cameras where flashing like papirazzi photograhpers.............lol.

Yes it was very wet and the safety of the track did not leave any margin for error. This is what make you a good driver to be able to race a car in any type of condition and obtain a good result.

Mark the owner is probably a better driver due to his experience, and next time out I bet his times will be better.

See the results again 1st in class for me

Have you tried contacting CAMS? That would probably be your best bet first up. Gimme a day or so, and I'll give you a definate answer.

Matt I loved racing in the rain when I was Go Karting (up the front all the time). But Dude you wont ever see me fanging around the track in my ute when it's wet. for me it is just to big a risk as it is near imposible to catch it when she lets go.... Beside the suspension is defiently no good when it's wet. driving on the road in the rain is bad enough let aloan doing 190 on the main straight......
