I've noticed that over the past week or two, my fuel economy has improved by 1L/100km's. I guess it's due to the cooler weather, has anyone else noticed the change?

yes absolutely, and if I was lucky enough to own a turbo id be noticing a nice performance gain too!

Haven't noticed any economy improvements but have definately noticed the increased performance
 I knew there was a reason I liked winter :evil3: |

If anything my fuel economy gets worse with the change of each season, don't know why but my pockets not liking it too much.

mine certainly uses a hell of alot more during warmup period , up to 50l/100 at very light throttle loads (according to trip computer) , i dont remember it being that high during warmer weather...

might be due to you using the a/c as well, I know mine is less when its off!

I've been keeping the a/c off for a while now and it made about .3L/100km when I started. The extra 1L/100km has just been with the cold I think.

I have noticed that the Territory responds better in the cold. Its fuel economy isn't really that bad, so the gain of 1L/100Km doesn't worry me as much as the lack of acceleration off the line (which is as slow as Molasses).

Makes sense as cooler air is more dense, which means it has more oxygen in a certain space, which means more oxygen into the engine which would allow it to breath a bit better.

The colder the air being sucked/pushed into the car the better!! (this is why turbo's have intercoolers!) as it is dencer then warn or hot air, there for giving better fuel economy and better performance.
In my case I have a 4 " ram air induction kit mounted were the fog light shoud be and my run to work at 5.50 am is quite fun. As an add on, who gives a poop about fuel acconomy GIVE ME MORE POWER!!!!

My fuel eonomy has got worse - but that's more to do with the commute to work at job 1 being about 10km, then back home, then 30 mins later off to job 2 for another 10km drive, then home again. 3 of those trips start with a cold engine - it takes longer to warm up in the cold weather.
