Unhappy Calder Park: Time for road works

What the hell is going on with the return road back to the time booth? It's reminiscent of something out of the second world war. F#$k off big craters everywhere! which is made worse by the slush and mud that accompanies it after a heavy downpour.
This guys a multi millionair and has gone out buying these crash hot timing boards yet cannot afford a bit of umen. Wouldn't be suprised if someone lodged a lawsuit against him for the damage sustained to their vehicle over this. Just wondering what other people think, maybe we need to lodge a petition or something?

Yes it's been like that for ages, along with the pit lane which has been resurfaced with some crappy loose gravel spray emulsion. Another quick fix which gets done everywhere else in the park

People are crying out for an andra sanctioned track in Vic but not much is happening, there were some whispers around last year for Calder but as usual there's not much happening and probably not much chance of either

There are two things you can do:

1- Don't race there and go to any one of Heathcote, Ballarat, Wilby, Mildura, Portland, Warrnambool, Bairnsdale, Warracknabeal instead (Yes Victoria has legal off street and competition drag racing at all of these locations)

2- Don't race there and support DRiVA who can be found at www.driva.com.au

Yep its pretty simple, he wont spend any money fixing it up but is happy to take yours for profit. If you dont like it dont race as above go elsewhere, maybe if noone goes there it will either close down or someone might light a fire under him and he will fix it up.

I'd put up with that to have a track in Cairns. I would actually drive a 30km return road just to race here :

Having again been there tonight it was a joke, the pot holes were amazing. And what about the staging lanes with all the loose stones everywhere.

Makes it worse with the sticky tyres, collects all the stones and drops them on the track when you take off..

A few years back i drove back along the return road and the sticky tyres picked up the rocks and they spat them inbetween the leaf springs causing a grinding noise over bumps. Took me a while to find out what the hell it was till I had it up on Rod's hoist, the gravel was wedged right inbetween

I just can't figure it out, when we raced (tried to) the Di Filippo Top Fuel Dragster there a couple of weeks ago i was on the startline bring Darren into stage and i was kicking stones off the track all the time. I said to one of the officials that this is a friggin joke and it needs to be fixed big time. As usual i got the shrug of the shoulders and carry on regardless.

The sooner Victoria gets something like WSID where we will be racing on a Wednesday night (just my opinion would much prefer to run on a Wed night than friday) the better off we will all be.

Will be interesting to see what comes of this with DRIVA trying to get ANDRA racing back in Vic

Whether another track gets the go ahead or an exisitng one gets the $$ pumped in

Craig what is Darren and Rachelle's plans for the top fuellers for racing them? I know Rachelle is already part of the season but will Darren contest some of the rounds?

Your 100% correct, there biggest problem is there are no drag racing people running the show at Calder Park..

WSID has Jim Read and he knows how to run a strip....

Think there are enough blokes at CPR who know what theyre doing, just hand to do it right with both hands tied behind your back.

Why spend money on a return road when you can put it towards more important things like palm trees and churches

Yep, tried it out myself on Friday and it's just like everyone says...cr@p
All this and only 55 bucks.
Don't think I will criticise WSID again.
It would hardly intice the illegal street racers off the street and onto the track, IMO.
