Go 3rd party, not full-comp. Dunno about city rates but that should surely be under $1000! |

I pay $543 with just cars, third party + fire and theft, no point in me going for full comp because the market valur for EA's isn't much anyway.

im with cgu and i pay 198 a year for 3rd party and i pay by the month and they dont charge extra for paying thatway. but they were cool with the mods on mine and my premimums didnt go up. but the only thing was i couldnt let anyone under 17 drive it the exess was 700 and mines 300 and its in my name so i only have it as im the only driver which will make it cheaper

Ring around all the big companies, then try a couple of brokers.
Keep in mind there is more to it than premium and excess. Also look at what they provide, what extras you pay for. If you are only having 3 mod's for a while RACV/NRMA will cover you.

I would go 3rd party on an ED, you probably wont find it any cheaper than 1.5K first year of insurance then the market values at say 5k and excess $800, its just not worth full comp.

My 23yo son and 28yo daughter both drive EB's and pay under $100 each for 'third party property damage only' insurance from AAMI. This is in Townsville and the son has had his licence 5 years and the daughter 1 year. Both cars are owned outright and neither had had insurance claims.

You can build a no-claim with 3rd party... i had to do that for the first 2-3 years.
even then my first year of insurance for the sprint was $2800 a year for the sprint with i was 19 :/

Nitrane - What company did you build a no-claim bonus with 3rd party? I've found there isn't many that will do that.
I was paying $1600 for the EF when I was 19, with just the 17" wheels. This was over 3 years ago though. The more important thing is to find a place that won't try and screw you over. There's no point saving $200 on insurance if the place is going to screw you over because your exhaust tip and standard bodykit wern't on the policy.

im with this mob Young And Cool. underwritten by Lloyds of London. massive insurance company. basically they are battling against Just Cars. i pay about $900 for full comp with all mods listed. pretty good deal if you ask me. i've had no problems with them too. they only insure drivers under 30 i think.

I got quotes from Young & Cool, I almost signed up, then found out their excess is something totally stupid like $2800 for a V8 or factory turbo. They say they will take $1000 off that if you have done a driving course, but when I said I have done 2 (both RAA accredited) they don't recognise them.
