Default Sweet EF on ebay!

Dont think its a dodgey one, certainly wished this was around a few months ago!

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-FAIRMONT...QQcmdZViewItem

Even if something is NQR, at that price it could be fixed up and still a bargin.

Obviously the guys modded it a little, is it anyones here?

I'm looking at my sales catalog for the 1996 Fairmont and Fairmont Ghia and manual isn't an option. Must be one of the mods or a very very rare factory option.

Looks like it's had a fair bit of money spent on it. Nice car.

It is an EL.

Either that or the owner spent $$$$$$$$$ on making it look like one. It has an EL front, EL rear number plate garnish (chrome went down the side of the plate as well as over the top on the EL) and the door trimmings and interior leather setup is EL as well.

And yes, it would be a manual conversion. The last Ghia with the option of a manual gearbox was the EB.

There was a tick option on the EL Fairmont Ghias..... when you ticked they changed the name of the car.... <cough>.........GT!

WANNA GO ME ????????????????????

nah seriously, if it's an EF it's hidden well. But i don't see any difference between the door inserts and those in my old EL, but if that's an EF then good on it!

EL Ghia's have Chrome in the front and rear bumpers.
they also have chrome inserts in moulded plastic door moulds (Exterior)

the EF's have colour coded rubbers in the front and rear bar (no chrome)
the exterior door moulds have no chrome, just full size rubber moulding colourcoded.

Yeah, that's the first time i've ever seen anyone put the EL chrome gear plate garnish on though. Though i'm guessing plenty of people here would have done it.

There's no way it will hit 12. i paid 14k for my el ghia over a year ago, when i traded it their first offer was $4000, WITH the 17" AUXR's on it!!

I laughed, oh how i laughed. Since that time the BA 2 became a strong seller and now the BF is approaching MK2. I'd be surprised if it went over 7-8

EDIT: Inferno, have you got a price on the wheels in your avatar ? I was looking at them for the BF, in 19, but the RRP is over $550 per wheel without rubber. Had any quotes ? Awesome looking wheel.

I suppose it has been a while since I got my car. They can't have dropped that much so quickly thou. I've since EF Fairmonts for 8k with about 100k on the clock.

Still I suppose it's only as expensive as someone makes it.

EDIT: the ROH vapor. I was quoted 3200 with all the jazz needed to get them fitted, only available in AU/BA offset, so it's spacers for me.

Anyone notice the plates are UDV, but he says it doesn't come with RW or reg? Thos plates would have been put on it with in the last month, so why would you get a car registered or put new plates on it and then sell it? Even if it had custom plates and he swapped to standard, why bother with getting plates if you are selling the car with no reg anyway?

It also has a BA intake from airbox to TB. There's a mod that took off when the BA's came out, then people stopped doing it. I think it was proven that the standard EF setup flowed best out of all the BBM intakes.
