Advice on tyres

Hey everyone, just wanting to know what tyre pressures you guys use, preferably a pressure thats best for preserving tyre life.
I have the stocky 15 inch wheels with bridgestone turanza 195/50/15
any advice would be great.

29psi up front and 25 psi at rear. I have the standard tyres also. Makes for a smoother ride and less rattles. Also, if I have the tyre pressures set at 36psi all round (which is what Ford keeps inflating them to) the car skips over bumps and almost bounces off the road when going over train tracks at 60kph! I don't care about wear or economy. I just like a smooth ride so that my dog doesn't fall off the roof! lol

i inflated them to 31 psi the other day. seem okay i guess!! i have to do a tyre rotation this weekend, keep that tyre life going.

Mitch, that's a good question. I also want to know... we need more people's tyre pressures.

I just adjusted mine to 30psi all around. It was like 36-37psi before (from the dealer).
What would be a good tyre pressures for "normal driving"? The tyre placard inside the glove box said something like 29psi in front and 28psi on rear (for 195/50 R15).

I'm running 40psi in my 17's, and was running 38psi in the 15's.
I think if you really enjoy the handling, you should always run a higher pressure than the placard states, otherwise you'll wear the outer shoulders a lot quicker.
Oh and if you do drive hard get your wheel alignment checked every 5,000kms

For most cars I've owned, I've found around 3PSI higher than the factory placard is a good compromise between ride and handling. Manufacturers always recommend low pressures as the ride will be more comfy!

You need to be very careful with the low profile tyres too, as running them too low could result in rim damage.

What size and brand of tyres do you all use? Also how much did they cost you?

Im running the standard 15's with Potenza GIII's on the front and Turanza on the back. They give excellent traction but the ride is pretty harsh as I run 36psi (cold).

They cost me less than $300 to get fitted with a wheel alignment and balance.

i haven't checked the pressures in my fiance's zetec, but i can tell you the ride is hard as hell, and i feel it all after having back problems recently. Might drain a little out, but not enough to make it wear unevenly on the outer edges.

I'm running TOYO 205/45/16 Trampio tyres all round at 34psi in front and 32 at the rear. Problem is, I have to keep re-inflating them every five days because the pressure keeps dropping by 3-4psi, resulting in a very hard ride. I dunno if it's the bumpy roads or a problem with the valve stems. I should have 'em checked.
