Is there any trick to removing the mud guards? I had a go at getting them off my AU fairmont today and didn't want to force anything too much. They look like plastic screws holding it in, but when you try to screw them out the whole thing seems to spin and not loosen? I don't want to just rip them off either, since I may decide to put them back on. Any help would be much appreciated! Matt.

get a small flat head screw driver.
with those little screws, pry the flathead screw driver between the screw bit and the plastic ring around it and lever the screw out. they will be fine. then just pull the screw thing out. easy as. (or you could just hold the surrounding circle of the screw still, while you unscrew it.)

I was looking at removing the mud guards on my auII xr6 , but looking at the panel around them it looks like the panel is indented to suit the top of mud guard , looks like if it was removed it would need the body kit /skirting to hide the indents in the panels for the mud guards ? , i could be wrong ? , just looks like that without them removed , is that how the panels are under the mud guards ? cheers

But on a serious note mud guards do work but look a little ugly IMO. my rear bar has a few paint chips taken off and a few rubber "stains" added. My front panel is not so bad. |
