Default Focus cigarette lighter plug issue

After picking up the new Zetec I went home to load up tools of trade and when I got to install the SatNav I noted that the power recepticle (cigarette lighter plug) never switches off power...

Is this right or did I miss something in the car setup?

I want the power plug to power down when I turn off the ignition and lock the car...

lucky I didn't plug the fridge in huh...

It never turns off.

You need to tap into the Ignition cable of the car and run relay, so that only when the car is on, will the SatNav be powered. A auto electrician should be able to do this in about 30 mins.

just make sure not to take into your local dealer...they might ask for a weeks wage!
