After picking up the new Zetec I went home to load up tools of trade and when I got to install the SatNav I noted that the power recepticle (cigarette lighter plug) never switches off power...
Is this right or did I miss something in the car setup? I want the power plug to power down when I turn off the ignition and lock the car... lucky I didn't plug the fridge in huh... |

It never turns off.
You need to tap into the Ignition cable of the car and run relay, so that only when the car is on, will the SatNav be powered. A auto electrician should be able to do this in about 30 mins. |
