It was certainly a good sign that we were able to withstand the constant pressure that was applied, but really we only just survived it.
Need to have a much sounder defense to progress through past the group stage.

that is the funniest thing i have read in ages. the visuals are just priceless. i only managed to stay awake for the first half (i was racing all day and was shattered) and wasnt hugely impressed. We need to remember that it was only a friendly and nobody wants to get hurt and both coaches are trying different tactics. That said, we still can hold our heads up high with the result and know we have nothing to lose. Nobody expects us to do well, so there is no pressure. I think we can get through to the knockout phases, and that would be so good for teh game in Oz. |

..............if it wasn't for Schwarzer's effort during the famous penalty shootout we wouldn't have got to the finals. unfortunetly i didn't get to see the game the other night, but read in the paper that some dutch were unhappy with the "aggressiveness" showed by the Aussies. i guess they've learnt that we will be no push over in Germany. |

They Dutch should consider themselves lucky that Kevin Muscat wasn't in the team as he is the biggest hack to ever play for the Socceroos!

Like I said before, even if we lose games they will know they played us ! My concern is after watching (many socceroo games) the Dutch game the other night is that we are too slow ! thats why we hack and play catch up football. Don't get me wrong I love a tuff game and we love it that way similar to the Premier league . Not fit enough still and not fast enough one touch football. I feel this is why "the Guss" is working them hard and good on him. I got to laugh listening to some press the other day, "oh the Socceroos are in luxury " heck what do you think these guys live in during their normal week and then is Liverpool/Middlesborough/Everton clubs shabby places ! Man they just don't know how well off our guys are based in Europe. Anyone see Kewell on 60min the other week, latest Bentley was his new toy ! On Fox the other day also there was a Doco about Beckham, his fleet of supercars is to die for ! but he's only making $45mil a yr :
