One for the rumor mill - he is a well known drinker and the cop's had been waiting for just such an opportunity. I'd have been out drinking with a budget like the one they delivered too!

Not at all. They are not called the opposition for nothing! If the Gov't do X, the opposition will disagree. Justifying one's existence is a real priority in the Public Service.
