Default No reverse light...

Guys...

How hard is it to access the reverse selector on an auto transmission in an AU?

I don't have a reverse light and I don't really want to get an auto electrician to look at it if it's simple. Otherwise I will get one to look at it, and get him to rewire it so I can get reverse lights in the tail lights.

Yes, I have changed the fuse and the globe, and it still doesn't work.

It's on the outside of the gearbox and is accessible from underneath the passengers side. Unplug the plugs, clean them up with some WD40 or RP7, plug them back in and see how you go.

Yeah, it's styleside.

Although before I bought it, it did have a tray on it, but some other guy stuffed the seller around and he took it off and put the tub back on.

The problem is with mine is that it's an aftermarket reverse light that belongs on a trailer...

I've checked the connection to the light, and it's fine, looks brand new.

I'll check the earth sometime this weekend and see what's doing there.

Just don't try taking the park-neutral/reverse switch off the tranny unless you're prepared to replace it, 9 times out of 10 it will snap on you.
