I'm looking at getting a secondhand unichip, until I can afford to get an edit later down the track. Are these good? Is it worth it? They are getting sold pretty cheaply

Go to www.aufalcon.com and have a read of the chip challenge. Will answer a lot of questions I think.

I bought a unichip for 250 bucks, for 550 I could of had it installed and tuned... But I thought stuff it, sell it and save my money to get an edit.. and im kicking myself that I did that cause I still dont have an edit either.
Theres nothing wrong with the unichip.. its a cheaper alternative and works. |

Go and buy yourself a chip that you can tune.Unichip is good but I think the edit has more features. At the end of the day you must consider that you will spend around 1400 dollars on the cappa edit .You can get the unichip cheaper but it has less features. If I could go back in time I would probably have purchased a piggy back or full engine management system with owner computer software. 550 dollars to get a retune every time you change an air intake or muffler is criminal

The unichips fine for an older car or a manual as it is just as good at adjsting the air fuel ratio and ign advance as the edit is and this is 90% of what you want.
getting it fitted and tuned is still expensive but should be less than an edit as it is much quicker than an edit if the edit is really done properly to tune your car not just a generic tune with a few tweaks |

unichip is good for mild mods ,average cam chip exhaust etc.. but one you start getting into it porting heads big cams i'd recomend getting the chiptorque chip or the edit .the unichip can't cope with it.
if your your going to get into some serious mods down the track ,save your cash for the edit.for a mildly modded car the unichip will give you the best bang for buck. |

Chiptorque and edit adds lots of other variable control capability but do you need that if you have a manual or an older model with no torque control etc |
