Which you cant legally do, it has to retain the emission controls that the engine originally came with.

im pretty sure as long as you dont put in an engine with an emission compliance older than the chassis. I dont think it matters if you change from injection to carby as long as the carby setup is newer than the chassis. I have been known to be wrong in the past...

that engine is available as a carby set up in XF's so its allowd, but crist hes waste some money.

Does any one know if there was a difference in base engines between XF carbys and XF EFI ? also I thought the Series 2 XF's ran a BW 40 not 35????

The ADRA laws states that you can't go backwards, ie put a 69 motor in a 73 model but you can go forward and put a 82 motor into a 64 car. Therefore your allowed to improve but can't go to a lower standard than what was around at the time.
It's the same as XB 6cyl can have a V8 put in cause they came out with V8's, but putting a V8 into a XP needs to be Engineered cause they never came out with a V8

$1136 for a pretty standard xflo and box, and no one here wants my whole xm ute with a recond 250 with goodies for $1700 whats goin on!!! lol
