Question K & N Filters Not Recommended by Honda
Latest issue of Motorcycle Trader, Honda does not recommend fitting K & N air filters to their GoldWing, motorcycle. The reason is "they let too much dirt thru" Interesting ! as AFF members recommend them. What do members think, agree or not ?

I agree would not use them on my car for the minimal performance gains they give

Probably because Honda prefer they we use Honda Filters?

That's exactly what I was thinking, motorcycle companies make a fortune on servicing. Slightly off topic but a good comparison is an air filter for a Suzuki Bandit 1200cc is something like $40 and needs to be replaced at every service. I use a K&N in my EL and I reckon it's great.

mates 91 integra brand new headlight costs $1000 yes 1k
radiator was the only one in NQ....passenger chair bracket/sliding thing $300+

i am looking at getting a BMC filter myself, has anyone had any experience with these? apparently they are superior to K&N

They do let more crap through the engine. I rebuild motocross bike engines, and also know the guys at Canberra Motorcycle Centre. They say the same thing. After a single 100Km ride, you would be very surprised how much dirt and stuff does get collected by the noraml foam filters....

hello Classic,

I had a BMC replacement panel filter in my girl, very happy. :eclipsee_

Then I had the battery moved to the boot and a K&N pod direct feed into the turbo, she has done 47K now and still as happy as Larry. Like a lot of these things, you got to make sure you look after it, I clean and recharge mine every 5K..... sweet :Reverend:
