yeh got my p's today .. .soo excited, now i can actually take my car cruising without my mum sitting next to me, not sayign she wont ever ride shotgun.
just thought i would post it here because i was soo excited , cheers |

Congradulations on getting your P Plates, just be careful not too get too overly excited and start doing dangerous things on the road
 Drive safe and build experience, you will love having the freedom to drive.

Well done!
I love my first day of driving, particuarly because it was in my own car! Don't do what I did and cop a fine 13 days after you get your license! Failing to signal, 3 demerit points and a very poor 18 year old I quickly became. So what's the ride? |

first time i drove solo, i drove my mums car around the block. i dont even remember. everything else is a blur.

Good on you mate and welcome to the club, as everyone else has said what is your ride?. I am an old fart who's first car was a morris 850
 e For some strange reason it had 4 Yokohama steel belt radials (big thing way back then) they were worth more than the rest of the car. It had real poor brakes, the old man bought it for me (about $200) cause he reckoned I would learn to look well ahead on traffic and learn to brake well before I needed too :voldar02: . Only trouble was the boys on the FPV track day gave me heaps for braking too soon e anyway enjoy... safely cheers Peter

Congratulations. Practice and pride yourself in the rules of the road and common sense and have a good experience behind the wheel!
So, tell us about your test. Did you do anything wrong? Apparently I came a bit close to a van around a roundabout, otherwise I was spot on. Oh, and I also had to use up my extra two moves to properly parrallel park.

Congratulations on your "P's" only one thing I have to say and that is...........DRIVER TRAINING is the best thing to invest in.

I also suggest a driver training course or defensive driving course etc. Ill be doing that soon =) |

i have a zl fairlane , in immaculate condition. i drove down beach road from cheltenham all the way to frankston,, (about half an hour each way ). im doing pretty good at sticking to road laws etc, sometimes in back streets i have found im slipping over the speed limit, but i quickly settle down.
i been driving everyday , dads paying for petrol atm, so i can do lots of driving, anyway i gtg , im going driving now, taking a woman out for coffeeeeeeee thanks guys |

I don't mind the ZL 'lanes. A shame they didn't come out with a proper gearbox though.
Enjoy the ride, and enjoy trying to park it! You will find yourself forever getting in and out of the car to check how close you're getting to the car behind you (that was my style in the XC when I first got it)! Trust me, enjoy getting to the speed limit quickly, but try as hard as you can to stay below it. It is heart braking to get a ticket, that $165 is better spent on mods and petrol than anything else! |

Well done. It's a great feeling getting behind the wheel on your own. I still remember the day when I pulled out of the driveway in the old Rodeo for the first time on my own. I never had to worry about speeding in that thing, because it is gutless!

Congrats man, its such an awsome feeling and you will remember it forever. It seems like only yesterday i came home from the test and grabbed the keys to the capri and drove to tafe (took the long way) but i ended up getting to class late then getting kicked out and going for a longer drive.
