Default upgrade exhaust?

Hey guys, recently my exhaust has shat itself so i went to midas today to get a quote to fix it they said $170 for standard exhaust but that got me thinking should i upgrade my exhaust to something with a bit of note, my question is should i get midas to make me an exhaust or should i cancel my booking and go to carline and what exhaust should i get, keeping in mind im not exactly rolling in cash atm and i have heard about 300-400$ for a 3.5inch cat back exhaust so what should i do? by the way my car is a ebII wagon.

Mike

P.S i only have until thursday to make up my mind

Any Ma and Pa exhaust shop can make up a good exhaust cheap. I've gotten new custom exhausts from $170 including the mufflers. Just walk into a samll shop, tell em what you want and then they will make it on the spot. You can also save a packet by going up the next step in sixe and not getting mandrel bends. Ask to hear the note before they weld on the resonator. They can reverse them and stuff like that that will change the note. That way you can choose the note that you like best.

You ring or go in and ask for a price on 'A 2.5" cat back exhaust with a straight through (Sports) muffler with a reasonator on the rear pipe. Don't pay over $260 for a non top of the line one. A top of the line one is e.g. Redback 2.5" cat back, mandrel bent with stainless mufflers.

My stocko muff died last year so I got a Redback offset and replaced the pipe without the resinator. Sounds sweet for an otherwise stocko setup. Suprisingly lumpy-ish idle. Got it from Mac's for $220.

My cat back 2.75 inch (all custom as its not standard size) with one centre muffler and twin 2.5 inch dumpers cost me $600, but it sounds good
