Default 11's in the XD

Well, i finally did my second outing to the drags. The main problem is the XD sits like a brick, and has NO lift of the front of the chassis, so traction was a problem this time out. I did have 2 runs that only turned the tyres minimally. This is the order of the 5 runs for the nite.

12.204 111.66 1.838 60 foot
11.904 112.78 1.703
12.003 112.50 1.759
11.906 112.78 1.732
12.074 91.83 1.723

The last run was going to be a scorcher, but a shifter problem made it drop back to 2nd at 6000rpm in top, and dropped the mph big time compression locking well before the line. Before the last run for the nite, i found the timing was 10 initial and 20 total, so i set 20/30, but had the misshap, so i'll never know what differnce it made. Still, it was a pretty good nite.

Congrats. Told you that convertor was on the money for the setup. Loosing the street suspension will fix your wheelspin issue.

Seems that extra gear change is a problem :newangel: j/k

Well done xdclevo, 11's are a great effort for a street driven 351.

What changes have you made to your set up?

I remember you went with a high rise inlet TFC? What else did you swap?

TFC 2V manifold (was weiand)
4500 8 inch Dominator convertor (old was 3500)
Regraphed distributor
Mallory fuel pump/reg (old was Holley blue)
New 11x6 K&N filter
1 inch HVH carby spacer, 4 hole to open

So sort of not much really.

Its good to rid me of those 12's, but with 11.904 on 2nd run, i was a bit dissapointed there wasn't a 11.8x or possibly a 11.7x with some jetting/timing. I still havn't tried any jet changes, and it was very rich. Racing was 2 hours, and i spent time repositioning the gearbox, as the tailshaft bal weights were hitting the tailshaft loop. The 1.7 60 foots were putting more strain on the driveline than the 1.95 it did last time :
Still, i am right where i targeted for, so very happy with that.

Congratulations.
If you're down for the next meet and I can get out I'll look you up and say hello.

I have only been to street meets, which are on nearly every weekend. I'm more into beating my best time than competition meets. I doubt i will go again for some time, as the 351 will get a freshen up and new cam before its next meet, so maybe next year. 11.50s then on STD stroke. I'm a 351 cube junkie :
