Angry i broke (washed) my zippo help....

i accidently put my zippo through the wash, it now doent work properley i have tried everything, the flame is normal and goes out after 5 -10 seconds. any ideas its ****ing me off :

Dunk it in metho and let it dry out.

hmm metho huh, i tried drowning it in lighter fluid, ill get the metho out n see how that goes

flint seems to be pretty sweet, the flame just wont stay on, ill try the metho trick later

fully dismantle the Zippo. take the wick out, the wooly stuff and the flint. let it all dry completely and it should be good as new again.

I was on a pack a day. I have been a non-smoker for two years.

Something you don't know yet is how much you stink.

This is NOT an attack on you, just the filthy habit of smoking.

This should stir the pot, but not as much as dying from a dog habit

Use this advice and it will (or at least should) work as good as before.

If that doesn't work, you may need to replace the wick.

im actually not a smoker lol, its just a damn handy thing to carry, then when i get bored i can play with it as well, bit of a pyro i guess lol

same happened to me i tried everything ended up just copping the 10 buck's or so and went down and bought a new wick,wooly stuff and flint (mine was buggered) fixed it like new!!

definatley put it in metho and dried out, i left my ipod in my pocket and mum washed my jeans and i came home and she said she was going to buy me a new one, i was not happy so her friend suggestest me put it in metho left it in there for 2 days then let it dry for 1 day it works fine now.

yeah coz mum washed it...hey it wasnt working before hand and its working fine now, metho works as a water dispersment- its heavier than water. therefore the water gets out of the object and sits on top. metho also dries very well and fast. saved me another $216

in that case, as the others have sadi, diamantle and let dry.

what about washing in acetone and leave to dry????

then replace flint etc

i about your i-pod incident , mum washed my phone so i let it dry then put it in the oven for a while and it worked agian

lighter is swimming in metho at the moment
