I have a problem with my steering wheel it shimmys like crazy. I drive a 94 ED Falcon furtura, its lowered with super-low springs, 17 inch mags i just got it wheel aligned and balanced and also the wheel bearings tightened but she still rattles like a cut snake. Could it be the disks or steering box has anyone elso had this problem? I have to fix it it ****s me to tears i have massive guns from fighting my baby everytime we drive.
Any advice would be greatly appriciated Marcus |

every time i have had this problem it was from the tyres not being round. they may look fine but that doesnt mean they arent round. try a different set of tyres if you can and if it is the problem, replace them as soon as possible. ive done damage to cars because i was to tight to replace the out of round tyres. ive had ball joints go, tie rod ends go, even a pitman arm all because of it.

I've always thought it might be to do with the wheel camber not wearing the tyres evenly. I was told I may need a camber kit if I upsize the 15s to 17s.

Yup, had the same problem twice on my 94 ED XR8 . Machined twice, new pads twice, third time replaced with upgraded DBA discs and quality pads, never had a problem after that.
Spend the $800.00 or so and forget about it. Don't forget the rears also. Pull on the handbreak softly at 60Ks or so and see if ya get a wobble. If ya do replace the rears as well. |
