In some cases maybe ,I can see your point , but try telling the parents of the two 26 y/old boys killed in this accident (27th May) . Straight road , no skid marks , hit a tree "12 ft" from the ground . They were found 3 1/2 hours AFTER the accident ....

Also try to explain to your 20 y/old daughter how this happens to 2 of her good friends. I had to , very hard , believe me......

Photo "Young Witness , Mon 29th 2006"

Can anyone guess what type of car this is ? ? ? ?

Sorry , speed is a "touchy" subjuct for me , my daughter has lost another friend since then (12 in 12 months) & also another one is in "Royal Northshore Hospital" Sydney spinal unit (he will never walk again).

Also I've got 16 friends & relatives in cemetaries , admittedly not all , but most due to speed , and not all their their own fault.

(Mods , if this is not appropriate , please delete)

My post went straight over the top of your head. Can you say the word 'humour'?

Its meant to be funny with a little humour for us all .
But I can see why some just don't find any part funny .Take it for what it is light humour .

XF maybe??? They look like XD-XF lower control arms.
Looks like a V8 too.

I've been lucky, all my friends and I are still around.
My sister, who is only 2 years younger, has lost four or five of her friends through different car related crashes.
(I'm 30 at the end of this month)

I can not understand the way some of these kids are driving.
As you said, straight road, no skid marks... and the car managed to "take off" and hit a tree over 10ft up! :

Yea Sorry mate, can see the funny side of the video now : I'm in a better frame of mind. :

(My daughter had just been to Sydney that day to see her friend in RNS hospital and feelings were pretty low in the house)

So far they're not sure what speed the car was going , but estimate 140+
, as you can see it went "top on" into the the tree. It hit high up the tree because that part of the road has been built up .

I'll check which model of car this is then I'll let you know what type

A V6 or V8 mess judging by the twin exhaust....might be newer than we all think, BA/VY onwards...square edge to the front of the quarter panel where it meets the headlight.

Vid was amusing.

Well.... nah let us not go down that path in this thread.

It is sad to see and I feel most for those left behind, as they are the ones in the most pain.
I can not understand how or why the driver would have been doing 140+ even if the road was straight!
(the answer is unfortunately gone, along with the driver)

I'm not saying that I have not done something along those lines. As I now most on here have or will do something like this.
I chose my spot very carefully, travelled both ways on that piece of Hwy three times before I "went for it".
(I was in the middle of nowhere at just after 5am)
Would I have done it if there was another person in the car??? Not on your life.
Would I have kept my foot planted if I had seen a car coming the other way?? No.

Just this weekend gone, a 24 year old bloke was caught doing 198KPH near Harvey... with a 3 year old girl in the car! :

That tree stood up well, that car would have hit at some nominal velocity.
