Unhappy Strange...stuff

Well just gave my xr its saturday wash ( those who no me realise this happens up to 2 or 3 times a week : ) how ever I always use the same car wash soap (tepol) + the meguiars wash mitt + chamois. today on the way to the shed to get the cleaning gear I came across a sample pack of BlackMagic wash . so thought I would try it : not the smartest thing I"ve ever done for some unknown reason it had a strange reaction with my polish (meguiras gold) if left what only could be described as a fall out over the entire car .. like a mist of tree sap or coke every ware the water went : started to panic whhen after a second wash with my usual soap it wouldn"t remove this stuff either .. headed back to the bin to check lable for toxic waste symbols.. there were none but mite been a good idea.. any way now I have about 3 hrs of clay barring to do as this seems to be the only thing that removes this gunk. its got a 1800 dial a Yank number on the pack mite give that a go next week but in the mean time would sugesst steering clear of this stuff or test a panel first :
Cheers .. Whoosha

This tells me that the final rinse was not very 'rinsing'.

Should of given me a ring, I had already cut & polished 1 car by hand. I'm sure my helper would have been up for it, we could have done it in a 1/3 of the time! you know the number!!

Look at it this way Whoosha, at least you get to spend more time with your beloved XR

I've had similiar troubles in the past, even when water stains are hard to budge with the wax that I've put on!

Just a rule off hand, dont mix different polishes/washes fro different manufacturers, safe bet.

Yes some washes are funny with certain polishes and waxes
I have a friend with original factory paint MGB who washed with Meguiars soft wash gel and it left permanent streaks on the paint
He couldn't get it off by hand with anything so I decided to clay and machine it with me rotary with a medium polish and put a couple layers of acrylic spray sealant on it and told him to invest in a shampoo/conditioner that is sodium free and PH balanced. Too many are not

Wax will stop water marks from happening but cannot remove already bonded ones
If they are fresh enough, try vinegar or a paint cleanser and move up to a polish (without fillers) if needed
