Default Suspected fuel leak?

Hello guys recently Ive been getting a heavy fuel smell in the cabin.
Mainly comes from dash vents ,I think
I cant tell as smell gets stuck up my nose and it makes me sick very quick!

Ive checked the car over and cant find a fault anywhere (nothing obvious anways) a few symptoms are
it happens full or empty
will do on anything more than 1/3 throttle
happens with or with out flash tune
my fuel consumption aint good either prob getting 350 to a tank

has anyone had a similar experience? or maybe could offer some ideas as its almost undrivable it gets that bad

thanks Joel

Mine was leaking from where the fuel pump goes into the plastic tank, apparently the tank can deform.
Petrol would actually leak out when I filled up and you could see a stain down the side of the tank when you looked underneath the car.
They put a new tank in under warranty ( around 95 000 k's )
Smell would get into to car when de-accelerating so might be worth a check.
You need to take the plate off in the boot to have a look or just look for any tell tale signs of stains on the side of the tank

I took the plate off the other day and it was dry as a bone around the top of the fuel pump ,but it does have the stains down the side off the tank ! and giving a stab then backing off does it ,so Looks like thats the prob
hmm out of warranty by a few months too
any ideas on cost of a replacment?
thanks Peterban

I dropped it off at the local FD today ,after tank was removed they found the breather tube running to filler neck had been sliced open by the tank squashing it on a spot weld on the chassis

: I can drive it again without fear of passing out

Bad luck it was out of warranty.
At least you didn't have to buy a new tank.
I hope Ford didn't charge you too much.
