Hi,
im looking to build a cheap track only small car KF laser can fall into this category (also looking at 20v ae82, b16 civic). i would be starting with a cheap straight body and engine/gearbox would be replaced as will suspension breaks wheels and tyres im aiming about 200hp n/a or more i was wondering what motors could be slotted into the laser and how tuneable are they (aftermarket parts availability). b6 engine springs to mind but i know sfa about them could someone please educate me or point me into the direction of a source of info on them. cheers

So you only want N/A? Ignore the B6 engines, the BP engines (1.8L DOHC EFI 92Kw @ fly) are solid and have huge potential if you have huge pockets. They also slot almost straight in as they come stock in the KF TX3's.
You'll also want the G Series gearbox from the KF TX3's, you won't have any problems being FWD. If you want to go forced (who wouldn't..) BPT's comes stock in the KF/KH TX3 4WD's and the engines are plentiful (117kW fly) BPD's come from the Mazda Familia GTR's (142kW fly) and they are the same as the BPT's apart from stronger internals/management/AFR .. There are KF TX3's running almost 300kW with these beasts. You will get a lot more information then I can provide at www.fordlaser.com In particular if you are interested in N/A only PM 'Razor' as he has a rally car BP powered and is the N/A guru around those parts.
