I use it, mainly for the tabbed browsing, but now IE7 does it too, not alot of difference.
You can block pictures/ads as well with firefox, other then that, its a browser.

I find it awesome, no pop ups and i think its faster (maybe be pschological) then IE. Plus you get away from Micro$haft.

I use Firefox. Not much different to IE, but I just prefer it for some reason.

IE 7 was giving me the $hits with how many bugs it had, kept always crashing ect. so switched to Firefox which I have found awesome. A good plug in I use for it is one that lets you download videos from You-Tube at the click of a button.

Firefox uses more memory than IE and also tends to be more processor intensive. Having said that, on a normal system you should see no real impact of this in day to day use. |

tabbed browsing is now in IE 7 beta 1 and 2
firefox once upon a time had the option of if it was an unwanted popup it would not open, though eg fordforums PM popup would still popup because the site was 'trusted'...with a few ticked options anyways i find both IE and firefox to be the same now, IE is way easier if you want to pull stuff off a site when theyve disabled right click! also more plugins and addons are made for IE with alot of those now going to firefox firefox - was or still is bulletproof (to an extent) IE - well thats microsoft for you, new release or patch every 10 days because someone forgot something. personal choice really, IE is still more user friendly then IE but IE has its flaws.

Beta 2 of IE7 still had several bugs in it, but that's the whole point of a Beta application. Of course that shouldn't stop the Anti-Microsoft crowd from taking another shot.'Release Candidate 1' of IE7 is much more stable, as it is pretty close to the final product. By the way, 'Tabbed Browsing' is no longer an advantage. I have both browsers, to allow me the opportunity to view my websites the way Firefox users do, but I certainly don't use it otherwise....no need too. As for 'YouTube', I find it hard to believe that this online 'Resource' is any kind of good reason to install something just for viewing the multitude of wannabe rock stars providing their moments of shame for the world to see. Besides it's easy to access 'YouTube' in IE7, just go to the website :

Firefox isn't too bad, but now because of the widespread popularity they've had to update it so much that its no longer lightning quick like it used to be. Its still quicker than IE, thanks to the page display engine (it does not have to wait for the whole table to load before displaying it, it can display as it goes). Most websites use tables extensively for page layout (this post by itself has a table of 3 rows and 2 columns)
But I gave Opera a go and not only is it as fast page loading than Firefox, it does not hog as much system resources like the latest Firefoxes seem to do. Bad thing is that there is even less page support than Firefox (a lot of banking websites don't develop Firefox friendly pages) And I'm not anti Firefox, I used to preach to everybody about it for the last 3 years. But those who have used Firefox for a while, try Opera. |

I used firefox for a while
but i found it wouldnt remember passwords and login names for forums, and even if i manually entered them it would not allow me access to the forums. changed passweords and everything. so for this i no longer use it, i loved the whole tab option, that was fantastic. but i wont touch it anymore. |

Firefox is great for the reasons above and the ability to download extensions. On my firefox at work, I have the weather in the corner, IE View (this is great if a webpage doesn't work properlly in Firefox - you can literally view pages using IEs engine from within firefox), Adblock which even gets rid of flash adds (like the banners at the top of this page) and a heap of other things that help make things cooler.
I use linky as well, allowing you to select a bunch of links and open them in new tabs....useful if you want to open 20+ links at the same time and have them load in the background. and finally, BECAUSE YOU CAN DOWNLOAD MY SEARCH TOOL FOR FORD FORUMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.h...mitform=Search

Internet Explorer was giving me trouble with opening attachments (even if I allowed them). For example, I couldn't open pictures on the V8 supercar site. Firefox fixes this. Also I like how you can do multiple simultaneous downloads more reliably

one of my favourite extension:
customizegoogle ( http://customizegoogle.com )- install it then go to google and start typing a search...it brings up a list (just like autocomplete) of some of the most searches for what your typing...its excellent...
