washing exhaust

i finally gave my beast a wash today and i got it sparklin but there is one thing thats pi$$in me off, my exhaust has this black build up and i dont know what i should attack it with. any ideas?

if it's a chrome tip, i just did mine and used meguirs metal polish. came up a treat!

just use wet and dry sand paper + bit of polish

Get the kitchen dishwashing scourer/sponge and then polish.

Is it safe to Brasso the tip? Considering that Brasso is flamable?

I use Autosol on my stainless tips... And under the bonnet on my alloy header tank and ceramic coated turbo plumbing.... Works for me...

wow so many options, what to choose what to choose, will try a scourer n polish, if that dont work ill head down to supercheap and get some cleaning stuff!!!

Exactly, I just need to wipe them and they come up great. I wash once a week and the tips have never tarnished. incidently does any one use the zymol products to keep their cars lookin good. just got some and its great especially the lem clay.

meguirs gotta be the best to use. All their products are expensive but are well worth it.

I haven't herd of that one?, I use polyglaze it's got a blue XR6 on the front.

I washed mine the other day with steel wool as it was really discoloured and then polished it with brasso. Come up really nice.

Steel wool?? Scourers?? Arrghhh!! Too ebrasive. The end result will look clean, but duller than it should be.... Polish of your choice should be all you need. If it's old and crappy, get a newy and keep it polished.

Very very expensive but It works a treat and its from all natural ingrediant. Lemclay first after the wash took all the crap from trees and inbedded dust and grime, the wax goes on so easy and takes no time at all. I got a kit from Zymol distributers in melbourne. Any way if any one wants to know more pm me, their products are from natures best ingrediants which do not harm your paint with any chemicals for use on tyres rims chrome or paint.

Sounds good when i use polyglaze you need to wash some rinse it off, Takes a good 7 shots to do the whole car it drys up to fast and gets into the paint. Also a little funny on the lips makes them very dry.
