Default Power issues...Solved!!!!!!!!!!!!

As some of you may know when I first bought the XR she wasn't running the best. The first dyno printout is from the day that I picked her up, the second is from today when I finally got the unichip remapped. Pretty big difference there and the only mod I have done is cutting a hole in the front of the airbox (angle grinder was real quick lol). The biggest difference is in the feel of the car though, it feels quick now (sounds tough with the airbox mod too) and i'm loving it.

Decent power increase from the first dyno run to the final.

Not bad for a bit of "Punjabi" modification.

It's pretty bad though when the tuner starts making comments on how bad it was running and saying things like "geez you wouldn't want to drive that too far like that".

Nah I didn't take any, it is just a simple angle grinder job though.

160 to 170rwkw looks about right now. Shows what simple tuning can do.

40 RWKW from just that, I'm a very skeptical person, sorry but that's like 60 odd kw flywheel, something doesn't sound right to me.

he meant it should have been 160 to 170 when he got the car...and that 160 to 170 is about right for a 220

Thats not what the tuners dyno chart shows though is it?

You don't get 40rwkw from a tune. You get 10-20rwkw. The rest is up to you to believe what you like.

Anyway who cares its a good healthy number for a XR8 now and thats the point.

I think I can clear this up. 130.6rwkw was on the day that I bought it on a different tuners dyno and it was probably about right too as the car hadn't seen many kays in the last couple of years and felt rather tight and sluggish. Over the next few weeks it did loosen up and feel better but was still running very lean. There is only one problem now and that is that she still doesn't have enough power.

That's a common problem we all share. Doesn't matter how much you have, it's never enough! LOL.

Full exhaust, cam and edit (all up about $4k) would add about 30rwkw (on a good day). Or just buy a capa S/C kit for around $5k and be done with it! You know you want to, and it will pump out around 230/240 or so at the wheels.

hehehe, i know the feeling. These things run just nice anyways. Just found my ECU has been chipped too, I thought it felt better than 220kw.
