I'm not a fan. It looks like they have just taken a Fiesta front end, enlarged it and tacked it on.

I'm happy to be proven wrong, maybe the small amount of tape is hiding a fantastic refresh and perhaps this early build will change slightly, but IMHO it's not great in these pictures and I'm loosing hope.

If the car can't look great with some dirt and sunlight on it, combined with some tape, my guess is it's not going to look great on the road.
Bear in mind that you, like the rest of us have been watching this unfold for months/years
and have probably become fatigued with the anticipation of something way better.

What we all need to keep focus on is how this appeals to people/buyers that are not privy
to the above info, haven't been following every story and are still very open to impression.
It is those potential buyers that have the final say on whether they like the vehicle or not
because after all, they're the ones shelling out the cash for a new Territory.
we should be quietly confident trust Ford and let the buyers decide what they do and don't like.

I don't think they have done enough to the exterior IMO. Minor cosmetic changes, and thats about it.

Yeah don't know what to think of that. The rear looks fine but I don't even know how to describe the front compared to sketch, which is weird because it's not that far off and I was 100% before.

What's even stranger is that white used to be a great colour for the old Terry.

I don’t understand why Ford has chosen to show the car like this??? Just plan stupid.. Some big fan fair & big release would have been nice... What is left to show now?? Nothing

I'll wait to see the final thing before I say anything

Either they did it deliberately as a litmus test of the styling, or someone is getting fired first thing Monday.

The one in the pictures is fitted with the 2.7 litre Diesel V6.

Check the engine number: '0486093276DT' = 2.7 litre diesel turbo.

The 3.0 litre as fitted on Discoveries has '30' before the '6DT'.

How can they restyle the front flares but not the rear ones? Major half-job there.

Makes you wonder if that part camoed vehicle is still a mule with front styling
in place for HVAC tests but doors and rear mostly unchanged (hence, old arches).

I wish that was the case but I think this is it.

There's too much old and new mixed together to the point which one may feel it's not as new as it really is.

Why is it on the EF the carryover doors from ED were imperceptible, on the BA, Ford barely managed to pull it off with AU doors, but now on the Territory the doors just don't look right after the facelift..

I'm wondering how people now feel about the styling of Explorer versus new Territory...

Why the complaints they didn't change the doors? It's only 6 years old. XD, EA and AU shapes all lasted 9 years, Commodores last about the same. Granted it's late, but they never said it was going to be an all new car, it's only just over half way in it's life cycle.

I think it was because the EF's C-pillar wasn't carried over from EB; it (the new C-pillar) stood out and thus gave the impression of newness to the whole mid-section.

In this instance with the Territory, had they "fixed" the rear flares it could have had the same effect as the EF's c-pillar, and that is to divert attention away from the carryover doors/midsection.

The head lights need a little more volume.

Yep, that and new mouldings, door handles and mirrors added to a fresh look for the carry-over doors.

And the EF had new door handles and mirrors to accentuate the new look, instead of leaving the old hardware on it

EDIT: beaten like a red-headed step child.

The IQ in this thread just dropped.

I think that once we see some proper photos of it, no harsh criticism is needed.

But what i can see is, Ford have done a good job at a mid life make over. People tend forget that platforms have to last 8-10 years, and this, (IMO) is a perfect update, it's got a freshness about it, ties in with the global ford styling, and Still has some Falcon DNA in it.

Who cares that the doors and roof are the same? Its better to have this then nothing at all.

I still like it, but Ford needed to get rid of the I6 front overhang ages ago.
Totally needs new roof rails though, too identifiable as current model, euro style ones would look good.

If it hits showrooms looking anything like the drawing, that would be awesome! I think it looks mean as!

EDIT - Just saw the photo above, I don't mind that one either!

Lol. C'mon fellas, Let's not be too harsh just yet.

Now that we have seen these pictures with the semi camo, I think that the best thing ford could do is release a proper picture so we can stop all of the unnecessary innuendo!

They have shown most of the car anyway so they might as well just be done with it if it is creating bad opinions.

What I mean by "old and tacky" is the middle section and the rear, the rear lights look bad and the middle still looks like the old one, I like the front, but not mated to the middle and rear of the car.

Front looks good to me, can't wait to see the camo come off. It's not the most flattering shot but the headlights look smoking hot to me. They seem to have missed the mark on the real lights, I wonder of Ford USA had a significant say in the rear lights...

People judging the final product from these photos should really reavaluate their position.
