Nissan pintara wagon, 4 banger auto. Mates chipped in 20 bucks each till they had 100 then rocked up on Christmas day 2006 with it! 3cylinders worked, wouldn't go over 50klms, pretty fun though. Pranged it 3 weeks later, so I got a corona wagon, had it a week before I blew both head and water pump. Then a VL, which yep...you guessed it...blew the head. XF falcon, matte black, no bumper no exhaust..sold for a slab. Then got a BMW 318i 2door. Loved it, never had a problem till I snapped an axle and sold it to u pull it. Then I got my XR6, and have also owned since buying my XR, a HQ ute, a laser, and two Gemini coupes. Gotta love those geminis.

'83 Ford Falcon XE GL 4.1L I6
Bought it as it was "born" exactly 1 year after I was! $1000, lowered, 2 1/2 inch sports exhaust, 14' hot wires. "Moddified" bonett, with 2 huge rust holes either side of the Ford badge.... hahaha. Great car with enough torque to twist the body on hard acceleration.

Holden HG 253 Sedan. Did a partial resto on it and sold it. It was involved in a police chase a week later and ridden off by the new owner

1962 model Simca. I think it was called a Simca Arionde. 1.3 litre donk, 4 on the floor, 4 door sedan. Death trap par excellence, driven being driven by an idiot who thought he knew a lot more about driving than he actually did - but I somehow survived despite my crazy teenage tendencies.

My beloved XB was my first purchase... and I still have her Payed too much for her but loved her from day 1.... even though she is Copper Bronze!
It was good fun being on P plates, getting sideways looks from passersby and getting pulled over by the cops just to make sure she wasn't a V8!!!!

A 1969 HT Holden with a 327 chev in it. Blew up 4 autos and 1 diff in the three years I had it. It was black with a set of dragways on it (10's on the back). Thank god I developed a bit of intelligence with age!

Sad to say it, but my first car was a 1990 TP Mistubishi Magna SE Sedan. Midnight blue, 4spd auto with the *cough* "almighty" Astron 2.6L I4. Got fleeced paying $3k for it. It went to car hell after it simultaneously blew its head gasket and threw out the timing shattering valves in 3 cylinders. All after only 6 months of woeful ownership. Luckily it was quickly replaced by an AU Futura

1997 CE Lancer (got it in about 2007). A 'girly' car but it had great fuel economy, handled so well, and never gave me any troubles. I sold it after a year, bought a much more 'faster' car which was unreliable, had poor fuel economy and had MASSIVE insurance premiums... Smart move!

For me it all started with an off-white coloured bog standard, XB four door sedan, that was handed down to me by my folks.
I had every intention of doing it up, it even got as far as accumulating parts and a nice 351 and had it down to the panel beaters, only to find that it had equal parts metal and bog, and it just wasn't going to be worth persevering with. Sad story... eh? Well...Not really, because at nearly the exact same time the Automotive gods (obviously Ford men) smiled down upon me, as that's when I found out that a family friend was finally after some not so subtle prodding, willing to part with his pair of (1965 & 1966) Mustangs at a price way to good to refuse. But that's a story for the "my second car" thread... : |

My first car was a VH Valiant 245 770 Regal sedan with a crushed purple velvet interior which i sold before I got my licence and could put it on the road. I then bought a 1970 Ford Capri 1600GT which served me for a few years.

My first car was a 1990 XF ute. It came complete with LPG, and a big dent, which should have been repaired by the insurance company. But as the old man was working 7 days per week at the time, and it didn't stop him from driving the car, he never got around to repairing the dint.
She featured no air con or power steering, a whinning diff, and a shroudless radiator, but she was a 3 speed column shift manual! I loved that car! Growing up where the nearest bus stop was 14km away, a car gave me the freedom to come and go as I pleased. This was the car that also sparked my interest in cars in general. And being an XF, parts are plentiful and cheap, and the cars a generally pretty easy to work on. I got her with 380000km, and ended up selling her with over 517000km on the clock. Yeah, in that time I did replace a few things, but it was all worth it. I couldn't of asked for a better car to get my through my uni day!!! |

Mine was a Xa ute, 250 3speed manual, converted to floor shift with a speco shifter that loved to jam from 1st to 2nd!
As soon as I had the coin I put a 4speed and extractors/sports exhaust in, so I could be a painful P plater in a noisy 6! Then killed the 6, scored a xc gs ute, which I butchered and put the 302 in my xa coz the xa had zero rust. Miss that car so much, If I ever find it again I'm going to buy it back. Dont care how much it costs or how bad it is! |
