Another good day for pies and delivering stone.

Beechworth Bakery, Yackandandah. Two steak, didn't look as crispy on top as normal but the perfect meat dark peppery gravy combo (happy C.B)

They do have the best real cream apple turnovers.

And a nice view looking down the Kiewa Valley to eat em before offloading.

I like how the rural landscape photo has a Turdis in the centre background.

That said, I agree - good review and the turnover looks beaut.

Microwave cooking is possibly another thread?

Agreed, the sheer mention of them is really lowering the standards around here

Maybe a “Microwave Brag Thread” with a requirement for pictures of any results?

A microwave thread? Ooooh I feel faint. Flashback to the 80s and microwaved fish fingers. I still have not recovered from that experience...

I'll admit, I don't mind Herbert Adams chunky beef pies.

I wrap them in paper towel and nuke them for a couple of minutes. I then take them out of the paper towel and put them in a very hot oven for another five minutes.

Gumtree pies are for lazy sods who don't get out of bed before 10am. (they weren't open)

C.B, yeah, I took that pic because of the green TARDIS.

Appin Rd bakery today.
Now we're talking.

I specifically asked this time for pink just to prove I can handle it.

No large sausage rolls left so was happy with 2 smaller ones. Light flaky pastry with a great spicy onion meat sans sawdust.

Chuckling at the yellow sprinkles. Is that a POTUS tribute donut?

XAHH - was in Aldi today, none of the sausage rolls you rated. Not even a space on the shelf.

Should have a red icing if it was.

Problem with Aldi is they vary from state to state.

That was hurtful

I thought that the Appin bakery would have been in Appin....near Campbelltown.

Bugga!

Maybe the sausage rolls are to compensate for the Aldis in SA not selling booze?

Gumtree Pies.......Well now I remember the reason I didn't go there recently until today.
Looks good on paper. pastry was a soggy mess with a tasteless mince grainy meat (and this was the steak ?? one.) Glad I only bought 1 with most of it feeding a hungry Carrawong.
At $8, I would rate it as a rich mans soggy Pieface.
I bet they make a killing from all the sucker tourist who flock to buy one.
Should have gone across the road and bought 2 Beechworth ones.

At least Mr Carrawong and I had another great lookout to eat it at.
