That picture in that article for some reason, particulary the rear from the guards back looks like it has a slight resemblance to the GT40 to me.

Looks great if it did end up looking like that.

The C&D render isn't too far off from some things ive' seen of the new Mustang.

Hips not as pronounced, nose is fairly close.

A slightly sharper Fusion front end and you have the S550, the rear really isn't that different from memory.

May be a let down to some. :(

They said six models. But they are only seem to indicate Mustang, Fusion, Taurus, and MKS. And of of three platforms.

So if Mustang and Falcon become fused... maybe LHD Falcon production at Flat Rock? Nah... can't be.

Nah, I think you're misreading what was meant by six models coming to Flat Rock,
models planned are: CD4 versions of Fusion, MKZ, hybrid Fusion, Hybrid MKZ, Taurus, MKS
and on the other side of FRAP, Mustang continues.....

Thanks, I get the feeling that a lot of American fans are building the 2015 Mustang up to be way more than it is.
It's still an evolution of S197 which began in 2005 Year model so a lot of the hard points and body shape is fixed,
the big focus is the styling move away from retro look which I recon will work a treat but I think some in the US will be
very disappointed as the hype is leading them to believe it's an all new car...

Sorry if it's been posted already, but a positive read.
Surprised to see that front-wheel-drive got a mention.

Yes! more of that! Only thing is there are a lot of sharp angles and straight lines. where the FG is a very curvy car

I like it. Rear end would need to follow suit or it probably wouldn't look cohesive as a whole though.

Headlight treatment is very nice.

Grill is a bit too angular and sharp but not bad. It does stir something doesn't it. It does look a bit early 2000's Mondeo though (the model not sold in Australia). I really do like the softer astoneqsue curves and top-forward approach on the Evos.

This would require a change of the bonnet pressing. Do we think a new bonnet pressing is in order here - or would they be putting effort into keeping what they have now?

The lower-grill area - the lower lip I like. But somehow the mix of thick and thin lines makes it look a bit fidgety. But something not too far from that would tidy it up and work.

I can see what you're trying to do with the driving lights. I'm doing my best to ignore that they look asymmetrical. But other than that they'd work too.

Some good themes in there. It's all driven and held respectable by those fantastic lights. But some elements would need adjusting to tidy it up.

The new front end will be better aerodynamically too, as its one part they have mentioned will form part of the fuel economy gains.

Could be the first model they have done thats takes full advantage of their new wind tunnel.

I dont mean to sound negative but Im thinking this is just clever marketing by ford. Its a late life update to FG so soften the blow for when its replacement is launched a couple of years later. Front and rear end treatments will probs get a restyle along similar line to its successor, similar to what they did with BFII before FG came along. That way they dont end up with an AU debarcle again. It softens the market so when the new product lands everyone doesnt run screaming.

Id be keen to some some rear end photshops the back is pretty boring on an FG would love to see some ideas on how to make it look better/tougher.

There is no chance of the rear qtr or the boot becoming new parts, my money is new rear bumper and different tail lights to freshen the rear.

Do you think the falcon will get Mondeo style lights that extend into the boot?
