Wow a lot of members had fun meeting up with fellow Ford Falcon fans, why not come to All Ford Day Geelong on 15/02/2015 and show your cars off again with us and have more fun with your Ford - we have 3 GTF's already committed with our 20+ car display - we want at least 40 cars

I've just walked in the door at home, we stayed in Melbourne last night after the event.

FANTASTIC day, I agree with everything that's been said here. Great to meet some new people (even if i feel like i have known some of you for ages through here) and a great experience to remember. Very interested to see the end result even if all of us at one point or another wanted to punch that director

I have some pics that I got and also a few videos which I'll post up shortly.

I think Graham was up in the Air in the Helicopter. Trying to look excited because he was seeing Frosty in the gold XR8 for the first time.

Which first time? The first time after lunch? Or the first time at 6pm?

well done Ford for organising such a fun and entertaining day although I am still getting over the droning noise

I am sure the end result the fanatic commercial will be spectacular and it least we can all say we were there.

The new car looks great so I hope they sell a mozza........but I am a bit disappointed that they didn't do a V8 ute

Firstly let me say that after seeing what a great time was had by everyone I really should have put my name down...hell, If I'd known Moffat was going to be there I definitely would have.
However the cynical side of me thinks that seeing as Ford are in shut down mode they don't want to spend any more than they really have to.

Some smart exec came up with the Fanatic idea.
They needed a video for the new model, but by using Ford fans and not paid actors/extras, they not only save a big wages bill they also don't have to pay transport to and from the filming site for 300+ people.

Pretty sure they had quite a few paid actors there, anyone else think that about the "black and red" group that kept getting called out separately?

I thought they were either paid actors or the 50 employees. Cause they said there was 300 general invites and 50 employee only.

Same here.
I do sometimes do extras work for features & shorts but I never mentioned it.
Lady just gave me a red tag, I thought it was just a first in thing like the cars in the first shot?

I think you are being a bit cynical Rog, I didnt see anybody there who wasn't thrilled to be a part of it.

If they did they didn't make it known. I was in the red group.

Some of the employees were in the red group with me as I was talking to them when we had to go back out late in the day. They didnt know any more than we did about the whole event.

Me and "Mrs 66 Stang" were in the Black group, and seemed to spend a lot of time outside (feeling the effects of mild sunburn here and there!). We were just "allocated" Black Group status by the girl at the registration desk....
We were by no means paid actors, but did manage to get interviewed about my falcon passion, and we got some closer up shots of our "reactions" as Frosty blasted past in the XR8!!
We'll have to wait and see if any of it makes the final cut.
I assume this ad will be Internet only, and probably won't make the TV? Does anyone know if it is expected on TV?

I heard the director say 'TV' a couple of times, but that might just be a slip of the tongue and he actually meant on social media/internet videos. We will find out I guess.

Also on the subject of ford employees, I was talking to a lady who is a purchaser for the Ford Ranger in australia, and she said they were told 2000 XR8's were originally planned to be made. But as some articles that have surfaced post event, more are planned.
I was under the impression gearboxes and needing to stock pile the older ZF used in the Falcons was the main restriction.

At Rego, the girls asked "are you excited" ad depending on your response they allocated the band colour.

I suspect the most excited scored the Red and Black bands - "price is right"/"deal no deal" candidates for sure.

I got yellow so need to work on my "excited" not to mention "anticipation" reactions!

I was never asked that and I was given a red band the moment I walked in. They either misprofiled me, or you're looking into it too much.
