Unfortunately the temp went right out of the track and I ran another two mid 8.6's. Mph was consistent at 166+. Packed it up and went home after that. It's time to step it up again now

great stuff, well done mate. congrats on the MPH PB, picking up 3mph is crazy. especially with a heavy car like that. have you changed anything? might be picking up some boost as it's going down the track. |

The car loves a hot track - so when the heat went out of it the times started drifting. Was pulling the car off the trailer yesterday and there was a loud rattling noise when I put it in reverse. Sounds like the flex plate has come loose or something. Have to jack her up tonight and have a look to see whats going on. Lucky I pulled out of going out for a last run on Saturday - may have done some real damage!

can run consistant 13.04-13.1's in performance auto mode due to the extra 4- 500 rpm rev range

If it is loose - we will need to weld them as well to make sure they stay put!!

So after coming back from a break we have run the car up in the hoist for a sticky beak and turns out that all 6 of the ARP bolts in the flex plate have snapped off. The Flex plate basically fell out. Long story short the car will be all fixed up and back out for the test n tune on Saturday.
Off we go ....

We drained the oil out of the box to see how it was wearing, and it still looked like new. Revving it to about 7400rpm as we cross the line. As we know, these engines are more torquey and dont really like revving much higher for long periods. We will run some taller tyres again this weekend to try and bring it down a bit. MT 29.5 x 10.5W. This time with the stiff sidewall. Its easier than a gearing change and will keep the car in the meatier part of the torque curve we think. We have a couple more things to get done before Jambo - especially with the competition looking to come out and set a new bench mark. You guys heading out this weekend?

i was thinking after i read they snapped maybe putting in some dowels, was talking to Spiro this morning and told him, he said he was thinking the same thing they have revved Daniel's to over 8500rpm i'm not sure what they are using on the flexplate. hopefully the new tyre works out, and i hear ya about consistency we were saying the same thing. better to have a car that can consistently knock out 8.40's etc than do a 8.30 for 1 pass |

I like how its my fault hahah Joe was in a hurry and not happy about the car poping that did it from memory. I blame Paulie for my red light the dramatic resuce earlier had me to pumped up
I meant i will be at Jambo, I got my own lawns to mow they should just buy a slasher and pull it behind a 8 second car will have it all sorted in mins not hours. I would go help but its a bit of drive. |
