The guy who penned the bonnet should be given a design award. It is amazing how it just really brings the whole look together with its level of character. I don't think too many other car makers could give a bonnet that much detailing and aggression but still somehow make it look subtle.

Imagine it with a boring normal flat bonnet...

interior is a massive step up, don't mind the exterior either. 2014 Falcon should be a ripper.

Dowling keeps spruiking his special "sources" about front-wheel-drive for the next Commodore (due 2017).

I'd be very surprised if this happens though. He's a top-class fool.

I'm impressed, probably because I wasn't really expecting much from government motors based on all the crap they have been coming out with lately, but I think this will be a hit. I just hope that GM has made its 6 speed auto a lot better, and I hope to see the gen V 6.2L DI V8 offered in the mainstream models.

Oh my effing god the new Ute looks so sexy!
Far out if I was to buy a new Ute it would be an extremely difficult decision between the Falcon and Commodore... I'd be tempted to jump ship.

I saw the grand unveiling of thre VF this morning and Ive got to say that the front of the car used reminded me of a Suzuki Kizashi with a Holden badge tacked onto the grille.

Ther rear end definitely looked Lexus-ish to me as well.

Those who are staunch Holden supporters will no doubt love it.

The only real negative I can pick of the exterior is the mirror scalps. They don't flow with the new rounded looks of the car.

Have seen more praise for the VF from Ford fans than Holden fans. Plenty of negativity about it on the Commodore forums.

Clam bonnets seem to be the 'in' thing. Also the tail lights look like those on most other newer cars on the road. The A pillars still look pretty thick, much criticized on the VE. We'll have to wait a little while for the Falcon update, it will be worth the wait. But like others I'm wondering how the Falcon sales will fare in the meantime.

I was thinking this afternoon when I jumped into my XR50 manual that "this is what driving is all about". Not the ultra modern and fiddly dashes etc like in the VF photos.

From various forums online, the Caprice will only have mild updates to the exterior and the rear on the ute and wagon will "apparently" be unchanged.

That's a "HSV Malibu" photoshop. Probably says a lot if you can't tell the difference between a Malibu and VF Commodore.
