Hi Guys

Names Danny from Perth. Just picked up a ruff xm ute. Always enjoyed tinkering with cars but lately I've been into 4x4s. This is my first attempt at a resto, thats why I bought a cheap car in case it doesn't work out. Looking at keeping the interior/ exterior standard but would like to put a 302 auto in. No idea how to do it so there will be questions, probably stupid ones.

Cheers
Danny

Welcome

There are numerous threads in both the Tech portal and the contemporary area of the forum with information about the central locking actuators.

Cheers

Jack up the front and take the plastic under tray under off the car. This will give you access to the fog lamp rear where you can remove the old globe. Or you can just unscrew the one side of the tray and gently pull it out of the way if you don't want to take the whole tray off...welcome to this forum.....lot of great information here...cheers

Hi Im Brett From Hobart.

Ive Moved from the Magna over to the Falcon to try something different so far im liking how comfy the car is and how much room.

i do wish the falcon was as quick off the line like the Magna i had but some 3:73 diff gears and exhaust upgrade should see the old girl moving i hope lol

I recently bought a 2002 ford falcon au III forte from a private seller. The car is very good and has done 130K. I checked everything on the car except the central locking on the rear doors. I noticed that when I came home after buying the car. Its a classic example of the very thing you don't check on a 2nd hand car doesn't work. Grrrrr...

The Problem : After I have locked the car when I try to open any of the rear 2 doors from the outside it unlocks the whole car :(

I read a few threads and I think that the actuators on both the rear doors are gone.

If I want to do that myself how simple is it to do that?

Moreover, does anyone know where I can find wreckers in Adelaide?

Hi ,Happy New Year to all. I am new to forum although have been a browser and learnt allot from threads.I had an XB fairmont wagon, great car ,sold it to a restorer, now have EL, with transmission woes, problem was ,sometimes trans would not change into 3rd,it would go back to 1st. After 2 services, replaced solenoids, new TPS,new transducer, new inhibitor switch, another ECU,changed relays, new earth's,lots of frustration and scratching of head, problem still there. However today I jiggled the round harness connection a bit and it has come good, nice and smooth changes, so tomorrow it's off to the wreckers for a wiring loom . Also I noticed left headlight globe was loose and needed to be pushed and turned for a tight fit. I hope this will fix it,both mechanic and trans specialist said the problem was electrical, even though there were no codes showing.

Would anyone know, or lead me to where i can find out how many XC GXL factory 351 with 4 speed manual were produced by Ford.

Cool Re: Welcome to New Members - Post here to say gday!

Hello all, and Happy New Year.

My Ford: 1999 AU1 XR8 IRS Manual Sedan, in silver. I've owned it for about a year, spending the time and money to bring it back to life after a tough life in the country. No pics yet, but I'm sure you can use your imagination - it's got the optional bodykit, roof, and 17s. It's now done almost 200k, with fresh suspension and some decent brakes.

I may be looking for some advice in the near future regarding making some more subtle improvements - I want to keep the car looking as close to stock as possible, but use it for the odd track day without it being a nuisance on the road. Headers & exhaust (so I can hear the damn thing above 3500rpm) for a start, I daresay...

Anyhow, enjoy 2013, and I look forward to chatting further in the future.

Hello everyone, im new to this site but very proud to say im a owner of 2 very nice Ford's i got one for my 18th a 1998 Ford LTD "DL" series 4.0L in-Line 6 which was a brand new car it had about 9km on the clock, but my mum had it put in storage in 1998 so yeah the LTD will have alot of sentimental value to me regardless of how old it gets, & i brought myself a very very low k' AU Fairlane Ghia 4.0L In-Line 6 with VCT & it has 67,325km on it all genuine & original (clean slate car), no accidents, airbag has never gone off, etc, im really proud of my Ford's i own

Hope i get to know you guys at this page, i hope you all had a great christmas & a happy new year
