Apparently Hino 300 has option of a real auto (Allison?) Isuzu uses some automated manual contraption - sounds like over engineered junk |

Took both the Hino 721and Iveco 45c18 small trucks for a test drive today basically they are poles apart the Hino drives like a truck and the Iveco a car ,the iveco was very nice ,not sure now each would go with 200k on them. There is also a van option with the daily I am thinking about ,just as much payload and area as the truck with lower loading just no side loading like a truck .

I've kind of lost track of exactly WTAF you're after, But you initially mentioned something about towing???? Forget about towing with an unladen truck, unless your whole plan is to wind up on compo. Trucks are generally **** for towing anyway, but will get the job done provided you have enough weight on the rear axle(s). I can't say for sure how much difference an (empty) van body makes, but at least that is some weight. |

I have a friend who tows horse floats daily. She wants to beef up the suspension - currently towing with a 2008ish Merc ML. She is worried about being taken to town by Pedders etc, anyone know of a good independent suspension place from Beaudesert to Southside Brisbane?

Putting the suspension into the sport setting firms up the ride and will make it more stable towing at max weight. |

what about below.... don't want to consider an F150?
This one is good for 4T. Petrol V8 https://www.harrisonftrucks.com.au/a...-F150/24055217 This one is good for 4.5T. Petrol TT V6 3.5 https://www.harrisonftrucks.com.au/a...-F150/21945539 Can vouch for the v8. Stepped into my Platinum to replace my 2019 200 series. Massive step up and uses less fuel.....

Would love too, just the cost is up there and no business to hang it off either ,have looked around for the step below second hand maybe 16 to 18 but can only seem to find older ones 01 to 06 with heaps of kms and they will be a big gamble for me (never had any luck that way)they seem to sell quickly ? Also at 64 it needs to last awhile so happy to pay for something like a 150/250 That will serve me well until I can tow no more!!

Prices are a little high at the moment due to covid. Get on the landcruiser buy swap sell facebook page - good for a laugh. 3 year old Saharas with over 100,000km are asking $120k or more!!!! insane Used VX Landcruisers 3 to 4 years old over $100k...... New Sahara's asking well over the F150 prices here..... Platinum is better equiped - Car play, Android Auto, massage seats, electric steps, better tow capacity, more power, electric adjustable pedals, stop and go cruise, phone app to remote start and operate the car etc etc list goes on. Having said all that, the new 300 should be great, and probably better than the 200 - only issue is, due to covid madness on prices, people are conditioned to pay more. I'm betting a Sahara new will be RRP around $150k

Yeah think there are going to be some very upset 200 buyers when the new model comes out and secondhand prices go back to where they should be

Be interesting if the prices do come down when the 300 comes out or the fact that there is no v8 option may keep the second hand price up,also will the faithful trade there v8 in for the new 6 or maybe 4 we will see ? My timing is all wrong with the dmax kms increasing along with the cost and availability of most things, maybe just keep driving it for ever!!!

Can't see the V8 cruiser losing desirability, look at the value of the old turbo 6s in the 100 series.
Still see the last ones advertised for $50k.

We have just bought a ssangyong musso,it has 3500t towing and a 1t payload for the tub with the leaf springs, its 890kg rated for the 5 link coil suspension.
https://ssangyong.com.au/models/musso/ They are great value for what you get from the south korean car manufacturer and good owners reviews. We paid $42,000 for the musso ultimate xlv,its a big ute 100mm shorter than the dodge ram. The high strength steel that they use in there chassis is what gives it the 3.5t towing capabilities. on the highway it sits on anywhere between 7.4l/100 to 9l/100 and around 10-11 in town. we towed a 2.7t caravan back from ballina to sydney and it went very well the fuel economy was between 15-16l/100. with the cruise control on,the biggest hill slowed the ute down 15km under set speed limit.

Yes looked a them at the Iveco agent when I went there, they look ok ,not sure on the 120kw 2l ,ok I suspect for up to 2.7t towing but same problems as the other dualcabs when you get over that, may be a replacement for the Isuzu with the grey set now that's increased in price .

Interior is flash in the Ssangyong (probably best of all) , but their durability leaves alot to be desired. Dealer network is pretty thin on the ground also.
