Looks like a few of these have already bee tuned producing good numbers, along with some hardware like intercoolers, intakes and coil overs.
Here is Autospecialists car in the UK. Mountune are in on it aswell but i imagine they will be a monumental ripoff here in OZ like the ST

From Car Sales.

British fast Ford tuner Mountune has announced that it will soon release a full power-boosting package for the Blue Oval's new Focus RS, which arrives in showrooms mid-year but is aleady sold out until mid-2017.

Details of the power upgrades are unknown, but expect a significant boost over the current car’s 257kW/440Nm 2.3-litre turbocharged inline four-cylinder.

What is known is Mountune will offer tweaks to improve the induction noise, shorten the gearshifts and strengthen the engine mounts in anticipation of more power.

Already on offer from the Mountune store are lightweight 19-inch OZ Racing wheels, a high-flow air filter, stickier Michelin Pilot Cup 2 and, even a front-mounted limited-slip differential engineered especially for the Focus RS by Quaife.

Mountune is said to have developed the forthcoming Focus RS performance pack at the Nurburgring in Germany and carried out tens of thousands of kilometres of durability testing.

Ford is yet to confirm local availability, but it's almost certain be offered here, following Ford Australia's decision in February to import Mountune kits for both Fiesta and Focus ST owners.

The Moutune upgrades will be backed by Ford’s three-year/100,000km factory warranty when fitted from new. Kits fitted after sale, meanwhile, will see the balance of the manufacturer’s warranty apply or a extra 12 months/20,000km -- whichever is longer.

Pricing for the full-fat Focus RS Mountune kit is likely to be around the same $4135 that Ford charges for the Focus ST MP275 upgrade.

Might have to hit up the leasing company at work - I'm totally frothing over these things.

The Mondeo may have to be relegated to a life outside the garage ;)

Whilst the mountune stuff is good for retaining warranty it is an absolute rip off here in oz. All you get for your money is intercooler intake and remap for the 275 kit on the ST. All I need is the tune but Ford wont sell it. Doesn't matter it's out of warranty now anyway.
So combined with mountunes already high prices and Ford Australia wanting their share it's not worth it imo. That said I have driven a mk2 RS with mountune mr350 and their alcon brakes aswell and **** me that will push the **** out of you lol. But a lot of money.

I haven't driven an RS yet but to me this is one car that probably doesn't need a tune. On public roads I don't think I could use 1/4 of this cars potential.
But I could be wrong. Maybe it's a slug.

Reading quite a few reviews, one of the words I would not choose is slug

Ford is also grappling with a delay for local buyers of the Focus RS, with one customer who placed an order back in February being advised that the factory won’t even begin building Australian-spec cars until July, which is when the Focus RS will be launched to the media in Australia, says Sherwood.

While he was not prepared to discuss production commencement and delivery dates for the Focus RS, he explicitly said that our fascination with two markedly different sports models – Mustang and Focus RS – has been noted around the Ford world.
END

But don't some of you guys have Aussie spec RS in build and/or on the boat?

I'm expecting an exhilarating ride from the RS. After all it will be the fastest Ford ever sold in Australia.

First Australian RS that I know of was built 2/2.
My RS was built 22/2.
First Aussie RS's arrive Melbourne 18/5 on the MV Oberon.
My car arrives 4/6 into Port Kembla on the MV Tosca.

I placed an order yesterday and the dealer could not tell me when it would likely be delivered other than expect at least a 12 month wait. My invoice has 30th June 2017 as delivery date which probably means absolutely nothing haha.

I did some training on the RS today and it looks really good. The level of engineering on this car is most impressive. Anyone thinking its just another focus will be very mistaken. A lot of chassis and suspension parts have been reinforced. A lot of parts use different metals to make them more durable. The torque vectoring technology is pretty impressive as well. Electromagnetic suspension will be another first for an Australian delivered Ford. On and on it goes. There's a lot to like about this car.
Ford claim 257kw for the RS but the training notes say power is in excess of 257kw so it's sounds like they've underrated it and 257kw is probably a minimum power output.
First gear will be limited to 350nm.
Second gear will be limited to 440nm.

The biggest issue for me with this car is it will be so fast and so capable that on public roads you wouldn't be able to approach this cars limits.
What do you do with a car like this?

A few things I picked up from the training that differ to other models;
0W40 synthetic engine oil.
There is no room for a spare wheel as the rear floor is flat to accommodate the sports exhaust and awd system.
External fuel filter is located under the car near the tank.
There two fuel pumps that can deliver 160l/hour.
I will reserve my decision until I drive one but I think I want one.

That's quite interesting actually, I have never read anything about torque being limited.

Does that mean the over boost function (30Nm extra on full throttle) is only available from 3rd gear upwards?

After much reading, I found an article indicating that when using the launch control function overboost is enabled giving the full 470Nm.

Sorry all, new to this forum and not sure how to start a new thread so sorry if I am high jacking but:

Wanted to know from all who have put an order in for the new RS what your drive away price is and with what colour, with/without optional performance wheels.

Look forward to hearing from you all

Cheers, Pat.

I ordered mine in April last year, was called in November once it was certain they were being imported here. The only option I was given was colour, nothing was said about wheel packages.
Don't really want to say how much the drive away price is, but I did a dummy run today on the Ford site and it was very close.

Cheers,

mark.

Yeah, that's why I was asking. When I compared against the website vs what several dealers had quoted me it looks like about $2,750 more than what the website is quoting which I found a little odd.

My father just traded his 2013 ST for a RS today. Only option taken was 19in wheels.
12 - 18 mth delivery. No offer for his car yet but the RS was bought at 46k + ORC. He's pretty chuffed and I am green with envy. LOL.

Unsure, but that was the price of the car on the contract. Next I see him I will get a pic of it and upload it. Still even 50k starting is a bargain for this car.

Bit of price pumping going on,,,,some fascinating dealer delivery charges being quoted. (Though some dealers are higher than others in the first place so not always that bloated). But when a car is scarce.....gotta pay the piper, to a point.

I'll be seeing my folks on Saturday so I will get a copy of the contract then.
I suspect the costs have been broken down. In any case I'll post it when I get it.

RRP plus ORC seems to be the norm so 51 inc or 46 ex plus ORC. One dealer I spoke to sounded dearer and some are padding it out but pre delivery does vary quite a bit and sometimes that's all I is Though for the impatient one adventurous Ford dealer has a delivery in Jul Aug for 67k drive away on Carsales at the mo. Bless their souls.
